SAVING HISTORIC ORANGE COUNTY
Established in 2005, Saving Historic Orange County (SHOC) was assembled to address
the need for historic preservation of the county's heritage. In 2007 the group was created
as a supporting organization of OCCF, and holds two funds with the Foundation.

SOL STRAUSS TRUST
When Sol Strauss passed away in the early 1960s, his legacy to his adopted hometown
was realized in the form of a substantial trust to support charitable and educational activity
in Paoli. Through the years the trust was handed from one bank to another, until it was
returned to Ornage County as a supporting organization of OCCF in 2007. Now Mr.
Strauss' legacy continues to meet the needs and causes for which he originally intended,
and does so from where it all began.

ORANGE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
The Orange County Commissioners Supporting Organization was established to diligently
disburse funding made available to the county from Blue Sky Casino AGR receipts. With
the casino opening in November, 2006, the OCC supporting organization received its first
allotment in December of that year, and has continued to accumulate funds. Payouts to
schools in 2007 provided free textbooks to all students in Orange County, and the group
held its first grant cycle in the Spring of 2008.
The Orange County Commissioners Supporting Organization
members proudly provided funding for free textbooks to Orange
County students in 2007.
