Orange County Community Foundation
Grants Record Funding

Orange County: The Orange County Community
Foundation Board of Directors is proud to announce a
record number of grants awarded to eleven charitable
organizations and projects in Orange County. The 2006
Winter Grant Cycle was the largest Unrestricted Grant
Cycle the Foundation has had since inception in 1996.
These 11 bring the total organizations benefiting just from
the Foundations
Unrestricted Grant Cycle to over 70 organization’s
programs. “We are pleased that the Foundation’s grant
making has moved to a new level,” said Janet Perry,
Orange County Community Grants and Scholarship
Chairperson.

Funding sources for OCCF grants are obtained from the
investment income drawn on its invested endowments; the
principal is never spent. Unrestricted funds are made
possible by the generosity of individuals, businesses, and
private
foundations that contribute to the OCCF General
Endowment Fund.

Orange County organizations and agencies that are tax-
exempt according to Section 501 c (3) of the Internal
Revenue Code are eligible to apply.  However, for-profit
entities interested in funding charitable nonprofit programs
may be eligible to
apply; the OCCF Grants Committee will determine the
eligibility status.  Population served by the program must be
only within Orange County.
