The Chuck Akers Memorial Scholarship Fund was established
to memorialize the legacy of a beloved Springs Valley resident,
Chuck Akers. Chuck, husband and father of two was a former
Springs Valley teacher, basketball and football coach, and
covered sports in southern Indiana for more than 30 years. His
many experiences drew him close to many Orange County
families, making his passion for sports and people palpable.
Through the establishment of this scholarship, Orange County
Students will be assisted for many years to come, while
continuing the legacy of this beloved individual.
