in the organization of the Paoli Chapter. With a passion for literacy, Carolyn sought
funding for programming to improve the reading skills of children in Orange County,
and helped organize the Reading is Fundamental (RIF) program here. Through the
RIF program, each student--from kindergarten through grade 6--receives three free
books each year. Carolyn has also served as a tutor for SOAR (Success and
Opportunity at Reading), an adult literacy project.
Musically inclined as well as literarily, Carolyn plays organ, piano and keyboard for
her church and participates in the Crawford County Band on piccolo and flute. Also
through the church, she organizes special events, and serves on the missions
committee and the women's group.
Last year Carolyn volunteered more than 160 hours with Historic Landmarks of
Indiana by serving as a tour guide at the West Baden Dome.

Eighteen Orange County special athletes participated in the Indiana Special Olympics
in 2007, due in large part to the efforts of Stori Sullivan. As coach of the Winter and
Spring games for Orange County, Stori recruited volunteers as well as led athletes
through the competition. This past winter, she plunged into icy waters to raise funds
for the Orange County Special Olympics.
Stori gives freely of her time to other organizations, as well. She has served on the
education committee of the Paoli Mennonite Fellowship, and as a trustee at the Paoli
United Methodist Church. She was a board member for the Orange County Child
Care Co-op, has coached soccer and t-ball, and has served as a Red Cross
volunteer and a classroom volunteer. Mission trips to Mississippi to assist hurricane
victims are among her philanthropic repertoire.
Stori is a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority

For four years now "Giving from the Heart," Southern Indiana's Women in Philanthropy
Celebration, has been held at Caesar's Indiana in recognition of the contributions
women make to charitable causes throughout the southern Indiana region. The six
counties represented are serviced by five community foundations with a common
goal: to promote philanthropic education and practices among women in order to
increase knowledge about charitable giving. Women in Philanthropy is designed to
help women identify and impact issues within their communities, and to aid in the
creation of funding sources to ultimately sustain efforts to address issues in which
women have been historical involved.
Today, more than ever, women are in a position to transform the world through the
charitable giving of their time, talent and treasure.
